South West Radiology creates a competitive advantage with DDI Health’s FIT Web solution

The Challenge

The Medical Imaging market in Australia is becoming increasingly competitive with a range of corporate and independent centres springing up across Australia. South West Radiology wanted to differentiate its offering to referring GPs and Specialist to create a competitive advantage. The solution would need to increase existing referrer loyalty, increase referrals and would need to differentiate South West Radiology’s core capabilities to bring on new referrers. The company understood the needs of referrers (time poor) also needed a solution which would not change referring GP’s and Specialist’s workflow and not burden them with additional software downloads or username and logins.

The Solution

South West Radiology engaged DDI Health to implement its FIT Web software solution. FIT Web allows radiology businesses to securely stream diagnostic quality images directly to referrers, using web technology for secure and seamless access via Medical Director and/or Internet Explorer. The solution was integrated with South West radiology’s existing RIS, modalities and PACS. When referrers open a radiology report the relevant images open automatically next to the matching report. No changes in workflow from the referrer are required to view the images, no additional software installs, no software to support, simply switch it on and it works.

The solution does not require additional software to be installed on referring GP and Specialist desktops to view the images in Medical Director (MD3); it simply works once the service is activated.
